Quilling on terracota

The art of quilling is done with paper, and on paper, but imagination is the limit when it comes to applying this art on other mediums. Like the saying goes “when life throws lemons make lemonade”, I had a few nice terracotta pots with me but I wanted to enhance it by adding something to its plain exterior. I thought why not try and quill something on it and thus began my experimentation with this and the result is the creations you see below.

It was not very different from quilling on paper but the only requirement was that when quilling on pottery they have to be glazed. The smooth surface renders itself very well to the quilled creations adhering to it.

Hope this inspires you to try quilling on other mediums. I would love to see your creations so please do share them on my blog.
