History of Quilling
Paper quilling is also known as paper filigree and is an art form that is more than 500 years old. The name seems to have been got from the feather quill on which the strips of paper were rolled. The first known quillers seem to have practiced this craft belonged to European religious orders. It spread to England by the late eighteen centuries and was brought to American colonies. In America it was taught to ‘proper young ladies’ and not so common among working classes.
